Trailfinders MissionTrailfinders Mission, (TFM) is an Evangelical, non-denominational, non-profit making organisation. Founded by a group of parents who felt the need for a Daycare & Youth Centre. It is committed to reaching the disadvantaged children and youth with the most suitable methods, developed by a commitment to God’s Word and responsiveness to youth culture.

TFM serves as a meeting and learning place to the school dropouts and children of the village. This will profoundly change their lives and would reduce dramatically the involvement in the social ills of society, like drug abuse, gangs, alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, violence, delinquency etc.,

TFM has found out the above mentioned social ills are occurred, mainly due to lack of social gathering places for youth, which is a rare luxury in this part of the world.

As governments and businesses continue to downsize, the civic sector, we will have to take on an ever-increasing role. This is the only answer to the problem of declining values, rising crimes and unemployment.

The rebuilding of our social values can only be accomplished by personal commitment to investing social capital (time, talent/ or money) to replace government’s diminishing ability ( a proven inability) to deal with the social needs of our youth.

Mission

The mission of TFM is to provide physical and spiritual support for disadvantaged Children and youth and their families through programs of instructor / tutorial services, youth classes, sports and recreational activities, spiritual counseling and food supplement for the needy.

Purpose

The purpose for each of TFM programs is to impact the whole person. This is accomplished by encouraging children & youth to reach their greatest potential in relationship to their fellow man, while finding their ultimate purpose, not in a religion, but through a vibrant , living relationship with Jesus Christ. The Christian perspectives and Bible based moral values are included in the academic, social and spiritual goals.

Vision

In order to truly change the life of any individual from a negative to a positive direction, the whole person (body, mind and spirit) must be transformed. Any program, which does not touch the whole person, might bring temporary change. In other words, a fish might satisfy the hunger of a person for a day. His very real hunger will quickly return. Meaningful and permanent change comes only when we teach people to fish so that they may be fed for a lifetime.

Academics

The curriculum is designed to give each student a strong foundation upon which to build a fruitful life that is pleasing to God and beneficial to his/her home and community.

Within this framework each student is encouraged to achieve his/her potential, both academically and spiritually.

Morals & Ethics

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6

This scripture passage conveys to us that we need to actively lead, in fact train, by example, words, and encouragement how our young people ought to live their lives.

It does not matter how good a Youth Center is, without the involvement of the parents &  the community, the results are not complete. That’s why TFM has a place for parents.

The TFM has looked at the question “Who is raising our children”? Certainly from a moral & ethical perspective, it is the media the schools, parents, clergy, and the church/other religions, through youth groups, their friends or other adults, at least some of the time.

Recent studies tell us that the average parent spends about two minutes each day in meaningful conversation with their teenagers. Two minutes a day, no matter how meaningful, may not be enough to compete with the multitude of other moral and ethical values being introduce to the youth in everyday life.

In order to do this we need to be present with the children and youth. Our young people need examples and the presence and encouragement of their parents, pastors, youth leaders, teachers and other members of the community to do that, which is right in the sight of the Lord.

All of us need to take the time to listen to our young people. Likewise we need to enter into their lives in appropriate way and to enable them to enter into our lives. In so doing they can gain of any community health the support needed to live lives as members of Christ’s Body. Making good moral and ethical choice  is essential to the health of any community and our country. Most importantly we need to enable our young people to choose the way of life and not the way of death. (Eternal separation from God)

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word  of God.

2 Timothy 3:16

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:7;  2 Corinth.13:14;  Matthew 28:19;  Matthew 3:16-17

We believe in the deity (divine being) of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, His miracles, His suffered and atoning (payment for sin) death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal returning power and glory.

John 1:1-3; Philippi. 2:5-11

We believe that for the salvation of sinful and lost man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, that by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and lost; they that are saved rise to eternal life and they that are lost, to God’s eternal judgment.

Acts 24:15; John 24:29

We believe in the personal visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ.

John 14:1-5; Acts 1:9-11
